Understanding the challenge
Web3 games often feel complex and inaccessible to casual players. Wallet setup, tokens, and blockchain mechanics can overwhelm users who just want to play.
Our challenge with FlyBirdie was:
How do we make a play-to-earn Web3 game feel fun, familiar, and rewarding without losing users to confusing flows?
Design solution
FlyBirdie is a bird-themed play-to-earn platform where users play, earn, and grow within a gamified ecosystem.
Onboarding: Simple sign-up via wallet, Twitter, Telegram, or email.
Gameplay: Match eggs to hatch birds (like Candy Crush levels). Earn points, climb levels, unlock birds.
Token Utility: Purchase power-ups and special effects using FlyBirdie tokens (Ethereum-based).
Play-to-Earn: Earn tokens, claim airdrops, and convert to ETH or USDT.
Future Marketplace: Rare birds as NFTs → tradeable in a built-in marketplace.
My Approach
Game Loop: Inspired by casual games (Candy Crush, Angry Birds). Levels move from egg → baby bird → full-grown bird.
UX Simplification: Clear flows for wallet connection and token purchase so even first-time Web3 users could onboard.
Visual Storytelling: Collaborated with illustrators on eggs and bird characters. I ensured UI wrapped around their art in a playful but functional way.
Community First: Telegram + airdrop integration made the game feel tied to a live community, not just isolated gameplay.

The Outcome
Version 1 live with landing page and game interface shipped.
FlyBirdie grew into an active Web3 community with token holders, Telegram integration, and early players.
Future Roadmap: NFT marketplace for rare birds, customizable avatars, deeper Web3 integrations.
Reflection
Designing FlyBirdie was about making Web3 approachable. By blending familiar casual gaming loops with blockchain features, we built a platform where users didn’t feel like they were “doing crypto” ; they were just playing a game they enjoyed.
For me, this project was an exercise in balancing innovation (tokens, NFTs, wallets) with accessibility (simple onboarding, playful UI). It was also a chance to design an experience that could evolve beyond gameplay into a full Web3 ecosystem.
